In Bologna, since the fifteenth century, the Triumphs of the Tarot (the current Major Arcana) were considered a manual of cosmology, as well as a synthesis of moral precepts and theological considerations. Later they became a game of chance and much later they turned into a tool for divination. Despite these changes in use, the Bolognese Tarot has kept the ancient depictions almost intact.

In seguito divennero un gioco d’azzardo e molto più tardi si trasformarono in uno strumento per la divinazione. Nonostante questi cambiamenti d’uso, i Tarocchi bolognesi hanno mantenuto pressoché intatte le antiche raffigurazioni.
