I Tarocchi possono mentire?

Can Tarot cards lie?

If you've ever had several consultations with different fortune tellers over the same period and gotten different answers, you've probably thought something like, "Which one is lying?"

The idea that one can get different answers to a question puts us in the strange situation where we begin to doubt the power of the Tarot deck.

Our logical system quickly draws conclusions: "If the readings are different, it means everything is tied to the randomness of the cards' appearance, and therefore no spread represents anything reliable. Tarot doesn't work."

People, especially our contemporaries, approach Tarot cards incorrectly. Some consult with multiple fortune tellers to "verify" their readings: if multiple fortune tellers confirm the same point, then they work. Otherwise, they don't.

Others, however, request daily consultations to clarify a matter that's particularly close to their heart. It's not essential for them to ponder the answers; the important thing is to ask the question every day.

Still others, among the more particular, ask questions about the problem that torments them to many fortune tellers until they find the one who gives them the answer they like best.

They don't want answers that challenge them or require effort on their part. If the answer is complex or requires sacrifice, they change fortune tellers and that's it.

It's clear that with such approaches, using Tarot becomes completely useless and perhaps even harmful. Those with this attitude should avoid fortune tellers.

The main causes of Tarot “lies”

Essentially, there are two major problems that can be considered to be at the origin of Tarot readings that do not match or that give conflicting answers.

It's undoubtedly worth considering that, among the great fortune tellers found everywhere, there are also charlatans. There's no denying it.

Unfortunately, talent for Tarot is a rare privilege and, even just from a numerical point of view, there are too many self-styled expert fortune tellers “on the market”.

Most fortune tellers in business are profiteers, have no talent, and rely on clients who have attitudes like those described above.

A consultant who is cultured from the point of view of divination, who knows how to understand the responses, who has interpretative skills and who is informed about the meanings of the Arcana, is a dangerous client for charlatans.

On the other hand, a person who knows nothing about spirituality, subtle energies, archetypes, symbolism… and who simply wants to be told that everything will be okay, is the ideal client for a scammer.

The second major problem that can lead to “lies” in Tarot readings is too frequent questioning on the same topic.

Continuing to consult your fortune teller assiduously about the same topic doesn't allow you to control the problem, as some believe, but rather diminishes the effectiveness of the predictions.

It is necessary to consider that the opening of the Tarot in the consultant's future is based on the conditions of the present, not considering all the small and large changes that can occur from day to day.

Situations change, so do the people around us, and even ourselves. Psychological conditions and astral influences change; the world is in constant transformation.

That said, this state of affairs shouldn't be interpreted as a need to consult the Tarot daily on the same topic. Changes exist, and changing conditions undoubtedly impact our future, but the Tarot's "vision" has a somewhat broader scope.

Questioning the cards too often on the same questions creates confusion, leads the deck to error, or rather, to frustration and a loss of direction.

The moment you consult a fortune teller is an important, special moment. It's important to make the most of it, ensuring it doesn't become a daily habit, a routine.

It's not necessary to know every single detail about a given subject. For example, if I ask a fortune teller if person "X" will fall in love with me, I must accept the answer for what it will be, at that precise moment. And be patient.

By questioning him every day, I won't get a more precise answer, but I'll just confuse the deck. I won't gain any further useful information, especially since it wouldn't be helpful to me to be informed about every movement of the soul of "X," who one day will feel closer and the next further away. What matters to me is the final result.

Tarot reading is healthy

To consistently obtain reliable predictions, there are some rules to follow. More than rules, we could say they are basic guidelines that guarantee more accurate readings.

First of all, you need to rely on a truly skilled and talented fortune teller. There are many such fortune tellers, who are highly cultured and possess a true gift.

To recognize them, it would be important to acquire some knowledge of the Tarot, its symbolism, its readings... so as to be able to distinguish the charlatans at first glance.

Knowledge is always an extremely sharp weapon for defending oneself in the jungle of life. Furthermore, knowing the deck thoroughly allows you to ponder the answers you receive and the archetypes associated with the cards.

This type of "external" knowledge, that is, on the part of the consultant, can prove very important as it allows for a better connection with the fortune teller and also with the deck.

Tarot cards never lie, but untrained fortune tellers can. And how! Tarot readings are based on interpretation; if you rely on a charlatan or an inexperienced fortune teller, the predictions won't be entirely reliable.

Another factor to consider, as we've previously discussed, is the frequency of consultations on a given topic. If the fortune teller is truly gifted, he or she will be able to indicate a reasonable amount of time to wait before consulting the deck again on the same topic.

Without a doubt, we can say as a general and generic guideline that you should wait at least a week before returning to the tarot reader to discuss a certain topic. Keep in mind that we're really keeping to the bare minimum to give the deck a chance to breathe.
