Astrology: The First 6 Astrological Houses

As we saw in the introduction to the study of the Astrological Houses, their succession occurs in reverse order to the numbering: we begin with the first and then move on to the XII, XI, X, IX, VIII...

For ease of explanation, we will present the Astrological Houses one by one below, and in future articles as well, following the sequence of their numbering: from I to XII.

House I, “Ascendant” (Angular)

This Astrological House corresponds to the sign of Aries, which, as is known, marks the beginning of the zodiacal cycle and this indicates the character of the unborn child, his personality and temperament.

The First House also speaks to the individual's physical constitution, vitality, and life expectancy. From a social perspective, this House speaks to us of public health, the people, the general condition of the nation, and the beginning of everything.

The Ascendant House symbolically corresponds to the head as far as the human body is concerned and it is Mercury that rejoices and strengthens itself particularly in this House.

When planets, considered benefic, such as Jupiter and Venus, or a Luminary like Mercury are found in the Horoscope without coming into aspect with malefic stars, such as Saturn and Mars, the subject will be particularly vital and prosperous.

If, however, a malefic planet forms an aspect with the Sun or Moon, the baby will have rather low vitality and prosperity. This trait often indicates the premature death of a parent.

It must be said that many astrologers maintain that Saturn in the 1st House can be lucky, strong and happy if it is not touched by the malefic rays of Mars and if it does not enter into any relationship with the Moon, Mercury and the Sun.

Obviously, luck will increase greatly if Saturn enters into aspect with the benefic planets, Jupiter and Venus, bringing the native good health and long life.

House II (Successor)

The Second House is governed by the sign of Taurus and is also known as the “House of Hope, Substance, Profit, and Wealth.”

In fact, this house speaks to us of prosperity, property, earnings from work and personal commitment, well-being, wealth, and movable property.

Socially, this house is connected to commerce, the public treasury, the stock exchange, and banking. The body area represented by the second house is the neck and nape of the neck.

In this section of the celestial sphere, Jupiter is appreciated, which brings good luck, while Mars, Saturn and even the Sun are seen in a negative light.

As is known, the malefic planets, Saturn and Mars, bring bad gains and, in general, losses and difficulties from a material point of view.

House III (Falling)

This House is connected to the third sign of the Zodiac, Gemini, and here we have information on brothers, sisters, friends, cousins, close relatives and allies of various kinds.

It also contains information on the individual's spiritual level, as it contains indications of faith, religion, and sensitivity. It can also tell us about changes and short trips.

From a social point of view, the Third House represents connections: railways, means of transport, post office, telephones, internet, literary publications… The shoulders, arms and hands represent the part of the body linked to the Third House.

This house must be carefully considered when Mars and Saturn are present, as it will be an unlucky one. The aspect of its cusp with the aforementioned planets is also dangerous.

In cases where the Moon appears free from all misfortunes, it turns out to be the only star that appears particularly cheerful in this House.

House IV, “Bottom of the Sky” (Corner)

This important House corresponds to the zodiac sign of Cancer: here we find information about parents, real estate and non-inherited assets, the end of things, death and related burial, reversals of position, hidden things.

Socially, the "Heaven's Bottom" is connected to mines, agriculture, cities, crops, sales, opposition parties, and landed interests. The body parts affected are the spleen, lungs, and chest.

The 4th House is very favorable for Saturn when the star is in its own faction, that is, when the Sun is below the horizon. If these conditions occur, it indicates wealth and even unexpected gains.

If Saturn is opposed to one's faction, there will be harm. This includes a decrease in inherited wealth, a life of hardship, and youthful illness. The other planets in this house are not happy.

If Mars appears with the Sun above the horizon, nervous system disorders and epilepsy may occur; if the Sun is below the horizon, however, the damage will be less severe, and more likely to be related to bad luck in relationships and with children.

House V (Successor)

This house corresponds to the fifth sign of the Zodiac, Leo, and is considered the "House of Good Fortune." It deals with everything connected to the planet Venus.

It follows that the Fifth House speaks to us of physical attraction, pleasures, joys, gifts given or received, legitimate and illegitimate children, affections, and romantic relationships. From a social perspective, it is symbolically connected to schools, the arts, morality, diplomats, and ambassadors.

The Fifth House is connected to the liver, heart, stomach, back, ribs, and nerves. Venus is particularly exalted in this part of the celestial sphere. Jupiter also particularly rejoices in the Fifth House, and both benefic planets promise happy offspring. Saturn and Mars, however, can impede procreation.

House VI (Falling)

Virgo is the zodiac sign associated with this House, which is also known by the uninspiring nickname "Bad Luck." Indeed, it contains information on old age, illness, physical defects, lies, accusations, and more.

From a social point of view, this House speaks to us of the people, workers, the masses, the army, the police, armaments, public health... The belly, the intestines, the colon and the rectum are the connected parts of the body.

Mars in the 6th house rejoices and pushes the native toward military or martial success. Any other stars present in this section of the celestial sphere prove ineffective.
